3WW-Erratic, Luminous, Omen

The night before had been dark as pitch
But the moon this evening was luminous
As if it had skipped several phases
And the sun was just around the corner
Shining brightly and reflecting off
A giant mirror hanging right above our heads
Possibly a bad omen, possibly not
We began to look for anything unnatural
Overlooking perhaps the most obvious
The erratic behavior coming from Jack
First it was simple short spouts of noise
But as the light grew brighter so did the volume of his howls
Until he began to jerk back and forth
As he ripped off his clothes and sprouted long course hair all over
The transformation was sickening yet hypnotic
We watched our friend run off on all fours
Into the hills behind the tall Elms
Never to be heard from again

3WW 12-5

So absent minded
No notebook paper to write
Persuaded a friend

To borrow paper
So I could take notes in class
For the damn exam

3WW 11/28/07

This week's words are:
Afford
Cigarette
Dim

Walking down the alley that night
It was so dim I was actually afraid
I lit the one cigarette I had
For some comfort and some light
It was all I could afford
Thirty Five cents
For an off-brand
Tasted better than most right now
While walking in this dark alley

3WW #60 11-7

This week's words are: Compensate, Modern, Radio

Jim really wanted to ask out Sally to the prom. He felt he did not measure up to the other guys. He was always made fun of, had less money, and thought it made him inferior. He could not compensate with their fancy cars, with modern radio's and 4-track players. He only had his mind, and a beat up old chevy. One night when Jim was at a local pool hall playing darts and he didn't notice Sally was there watching. Sally's passion was billiards. Because of Jim's fear of being inferior he usually didn't go out, but a few guys had brought him along thinking they would embarass him for a joke. After Jim proved to be successful in darts, a big football jock named Rock challenged him to a game of pool. Jim agreed and let Rock break. After sinking a few balls Rock scratched and it was Jim's turn. He used his geomotry skills and photographic memory to create perfect angles to knock in one ball after another consectutively. Sally had still not been seen by Jim, but she was watching in the background totally mezmorized by the game. People started to ask Jim for lessons afterwards and he realized there was something he could do that could compensate his inability to play popular sports and he began to practice in his free time. Sally also asked for lessons which gave him much more self-esteem and soon he asked her to the prom. They danced happily ever after.

3WW 10-31

Just babysitting
For a beautiful infant
When it all began

The storm outside windy
Slamming the shutters loudly
When the phone first rang

A deep scratchy voice
Probably just teenagers
But it continued

More calls to bother
Until I called the police
To get a trace made

A cell phone of course
Promises made to call back
After tracking it

On my way upstairs
To check out the baby's crib
The phone rang again

Police had traced
The call to inside the house
They were on the way

I broke out my gun
Ready to scare back whoever
Was fucking with me

Picked up the baby
Only to be confronted
By a cloaked stranger

Gave him two warnings
Before I fired the shot
Shattering his leg

Kicked him as I passed
Child in hand waited outside
For the backup cops

OOps, I had a brain
Guess he wasn't aware that
Women can kick ass

3WW 10/24/07

The unexpected
Care that I still have for you
Showed up last weekend

My old memories
Resurfacing like iceburgs
Out of the water

3WW 10/17/07

This week's words are: Field, Hide, Second

A short intro to the original Children of the Corn using the words...it is almost Halloween.

The children like to hide in the field. A large open cornfield where they don't have to worry about parents. One second you think you see them, then nothing. What they worship has been a secret kept for a few weeks, until a few strangers approach the town to find it dead.

3WW 10-10

Terrible Weather
Winds so loud I could not hear
The initial knock

3WW

Dove's feather falling
Misplaced into the strong winds
But Never Useless

3WW 9-19

Nine girl scouts slept sound
Ambiguous to the bear
Eating all the food

Hung up on the trees
But cookies was not enough
To fill the bears gut

Eight girl scouts woke up
To find the ninth playing fetch
With a huge grizzly

3WW 9-12

I used the original racket
The one my father gave me
All those years ago
When we tried to play tennis
While Skipping stones across the lake
It was good for hitting more than just balls
Rocks bounced off it effortlessly
And I watched the parade of stones
Reaching father as I used more force
Smiling remembering the past

3WW 8-29

In the old Hotel
Many obscure items rot
Lost and Forgotten

Blank face lingering
Down the corridor fading
Such a subtle haunt

Quietly Burning
The taxi had only crashed
Only seconds passed

3WW 8-8-07

Determined speeders
Don't yield at the signs they see
Instead honk at me

Following the law
Driving with pajamas on
Does not break the law

3WW 8-1-07

This week's words are: Gray, Fathom, Memphis

Now I have to go and look up Memphis to make sure it's not just a city because I would not know how to use it that way. Arg... it will be done soon.

It does! Holy Cow! Not just the largest city in TN, but also an ancient city in Egypt on the Nile. Interesting because both cities overlook large rivers, the Nile and the Missippi.

and now I do such a simple Haiku that uses none of that

I could not fathom
Gray smoke rising from steamboats
Over Memphis skies

3WW #45

In reality.
An illusion of the mind,
And I'm not a fan.

3WW 7-18

This week's words are: Cope, Revealed, Stick

I was trying to cope with the stress. Parents always get you down. That is what I always thought. I went outside after hearing the dissapointing news that I might actually not be able to go to Disney World this summer because of cutbacks at the factory my father worked at. I picked up a stick after stick to use as swords and take my frustration out in the woods beside my house. Many of them broke as I hit them against trees and brush, but there always seemed to be another one. I was being agressive and imagining I was in the military as most boys do when they are young in one way or another. As I threw one of the sticks into a small hollow, briars were pushed aside and a small opening was revealed. I pushed aside the remaining briars and found that the opening was just big enough for me to shimmy into it so I ran back to our garage and got a flashlight. I turned it on and looked around and saw a small box in the back of the hollow about eight feet back. Despite my fear of enclosed spaces I had to know what was in the box. I moved back and forth very slowly, first making sure that getting out was possible and that I could make myself move both ways. Once I got close enough to reach the box I pulled it forward and then moved back out pulling along the box as I moved. When I reached the woods again I opened up the box. Inside there were letters that appeared very old and underneath some strange coins. I took them back inside and saw that they were dated from the 1700's and were communications between slaves that had been on a plantation and written in code. The coins must have been that old as well. I found that the coins although dingy were actually silver and gold and offered them to my father. My summer ended up okay and from that point on I kept

3ww is back

This week's words are: Private, Crossed, Rinse

Prefering private

I had to rinse blood and tears

You crossed the line twice

3WW XLII

This week the words are: Envelope, Negligible, Resent

To be fast:

(Upon entering my house...)

Open Envelope

Contents are negligable

Still resent the thief

To be poetic

Resent is so strong

Like hatred

Most things in life

Are negligable

Just another open

And shut case

Much like an envelope

Maybe not able

To be resealed

But not worth getting angry over

When the feeling is gone

In less than a minute

3WW #40 (5 for me)

For the first time ever, I am trying four words instead of three.

It's a very exciting milestone for 3WW :)

This week's words are:Magic, Repeatedly, Forty, Admit

Repeatedly I

Admit it takes no magic

To use forty words

Now to be serious...maybe

On the stage at age forty one had to admit, this was getting old. Staying in Las Vegas to do the tired old magic routine over and over repeatedly, just to hear the applause of the small crowd that was too drunk or broke to continue playing slots and poker in the game room had lost it's fun. The problem was that he had never gotten the trick right. Everynight he tried to pull a rabbit from his hat and ended up with the stupid hankerchiefs that changed colors forever. The words didn't matter, and he continuously lost rabbits. The pet store actually had a cute name for the magician who was a frequent visitor buying more pets than any other customer ever. Tonight as he looked into the blank stare of the crowd he saw the pet store owner and at once knew how the rabbits were always in stock. Unfortunetly this did not solve the mystery of why his trick never worked, but it saved him some cash after he marked his rabbits and got the police involved in the scandel the pet store was pulling selling him the same animals repeatedly.

3WW #39 (4 for me)

Use these words in any way you want to create something...

This week's words are:Endless, Ought, Shadow

How Pan Met Wendy

I ought to be able to catch it

He thought to himself

About his silly shadow

The part of him

That was always so near

Mocking him as it may be

Never letting him have the last laugh

And thus the endless journey began

Chasing after it all day

And then resting at night

When there was no light

Casting down to make it visible

Around the world and past

Dancing as he flew

Right in front of the hooked Captain

Through caves and trails

Forgetting about his friends

With only this in mind

And in the process

He got so lost

That he ended up here

In a room with a young girl

Who would help stich them together

And later read him bedtime stories

She always had the best
