This week's words are: Compensate, Modern, Radio

Jim really wanted to ask out Sally to the prom. He felt he did not measure up to the other guys. He was always made fun of, had less money, and thought it made him inferior. He could not compensate with their fancy cars, with modern radio's and 4-track players. He only had his mind, and a beat up old chevy. One night when Jim was at a local pool hall playing darts and he didn't notice Sally was there watching. Sally's passion was billiards. Because of Jim's fear of being inferior he usually didn't go out, but a few guys had brought him along thinking they would embarass him for a joke. After Jim proved to be successful in darts, a big football jock named Rock challenged him to a game of pool. Jim agreed and let Rock break. After sinking a few balls Rock scratched and it was Jim's turn. He used his geomotry skills and photographic memory to create perfect angles to knock in one ball after another consectutively. Sally had still not been seen by Jim, but she was watching in the background totally mezmorized by the game. People started to ask Jim for lessons afterwards and he realized there was something he could do that could compensate his inability to play popular sports and he began to practice in his free time. Sally also asked for lessons which gave him much more self-esteem and soon he asked her to the prom. They danced happily ever after.
