Even if you could be that close
To another person
Literally touching
Perhaps even sharing the same brain
It would still not overcome the distance
For no two people
No matter how close they think they are
No matter how close they physically are
No matter how linked they have become
Can overcome the infinite distance that separates them
The one thing that makes all of us perfect
Is that we are all unique
And the harder one looks to find a similarity
Rather than a difference
The easier and more obvious the differences become
Until you see that you are alone
Surrounded by other lonely souls
Jumping deeper into chasms
That have no bottom
While trying to get closer
To what is one ultimate
Being close to yourself
Is as good as it gets
