She needed some help
Coming up with reasons
To stay alive
A positive eulogy
And someone to recite it
Sick of only being remembered
As a pessimist
Not wanting others
To smile about her death
The few that she called friend
Suggested a baby
But she knew
This was no answer
She needed a love
That was by choice
And some strong adhesive
Powerful enough to hold together
Two parts that had been broken
For so long
Their edges had eroded
And they no longer fit
She went back to the graveyard
To pray and think
Beside her mother
Of a way to start over
As she did
Her brother approached
Still with a shining smile

Chris -- this is wonderful. I love the beginning:
She needed some help
Coming up with reasons
To stay alive
A positive eulogy
And someone to recite it
and this:
She needed a love
That was by choice
And some strong adhesive
Powerful enough to hold together
Two parts that had been broken
For so long
Their edges had eroded
And they no longer fit
and the ending....
You have not lost your touch at all, not at all....
