Advice

Today I followed some advice
Began calling people in the phone book
Every person with a name in common
No, I'm not that crazy
Just the last name
Just this city
There might be thirty or so
I need to tell my eighth grade teacher
That got me writing poems
That I am still doing it
Following a dream
But to no avail so far
Seventeen names down
And none of them
Even have a teacher
In the family
Much less at the time and place
That I am looking for
But this was just a phone book
I have the Internet
And if I don't find him
I'll know I tried
