Safe

The wind outside is whirling and hurling
Weatherman uses words like hurricane and tornado
The rain comes from all sides, even upside down
The oak tree isn't afraid at all
It stands slid, proud and tall
No matter how bad, it will not fall

The storm has only just begun
Yet the electricity is already out
Downed power lines and limbs line the street
Others trees around the oak crash down
Until one cannot see the ground
Not much living can be found

How he tries to be that tree
Rooted and stable, yet still so free
If you could see, you would agree
The oak tree isn't afraid at all
It stands solid, proud and tall
No matter how bad, it will not fall
