I think laws are made to be followed, but on the other hand, rules are made to be broken. I apologize for not really following the prompt Dana and Liz gave, but in my defense I just didn't read the prompt. I saw on someone else's page that had already completed the task for the week what was done, and tried to infer from their post what the random idea was. Unfortunetly I guessed that it was using any type of quotation from anyone in a poem. I figured the guy was just being really nice by picking poets from the site. Since I did not read up in time, I decided not to submit a line either. Anyways, here goes nothing.
I chose to use quotes from TOOL, album: Lateralus, song: The Grudge
My goal was to create a poem from partial lines in the song that came out with a completely different meaning than the song. I do realize this could be copyright infringement against a major label band, but it is in the spirit of good fun and I don't plan on publishing it or calling it "my work" ever. All underlined parts are actual verse from the song. If you want to compare it the lyrics are below. Here it is:
