Communication Manual

I need a new book
A communication manual if you will
Nothing fancy
Just instructions
On how to understand others
What they mean
How a letter
Differs from an email
And how they differ from phone calls
And how those differ from face to face conversations
As well as instant messages
And so on
Misunderstandings are no fun
I would love to throw them out
Then life would be
Just a tad bit easier
But who wants easy
Apparently no one
Or it would have already been written
And if one exists
Then become my friend
Buy it for me
Scan every page
Send me a copy
I promise not to tell
That you broke the law
I just need some help
When communicating
My foot ends up in my mouth
More often than the right words
And often more often than I wash my foot
Dirty foot tastes yucky
So please be a pal
Make or send me a communication manual
So I can learn to understand others
And maybe someday
Understand myself

Chris, I think many of us could have written these words at one time or the other, since the rules seem to change, yet stay much the same.

I agree with Marcia, I was going to say that some days we could all do with one of those manuals. Great poem Chris.
