The questions he asked
Usually about space
I could not help but answer
From the look on his face
The desire for knowledge
One day and the next
Gave me the feeling
He was usually perplexed
Then came the big one
An answer unknown
And I made up a story
Using a strange tone
He simply stated
Needing to know
How the end would come
And if he would go
Which would come first
Would oceans rise
Would God pay us a visit
Or Suns burn the skies
Too hot or too cold
A disease we would carry
Maybe an asteroid
I answered Binary
With much tongue in cheek
I tried to explain
How the computers would get smart
And develop a brain
AI is not far
I whispered away
We've taught them too much
And they want to stay
Starting with one
And becoming much more
Developing weapons
Settling the score
When waters rise
Or bombs scorch the skies
Only machines will live
No saying goodbyes
When Jesus returns
To take all the souls
We'll all be long dead
Just rotting in holes
He turned to his mother
With grief in his eye
She smiled and said to him
It's no reason to cry
Your lifetime is all
You need worry about
He's just trying to scare you
Into stopping the DAMN NEVER ENDING QUESTIONS!
