Casual

He walks slowly
Sometimes dragging his feet
To listen to the scratchy sound
Of rubber sliding over concrete
Dresses inappropriately for work
Not a job, a career
But with ripped and tattered jeans
And those t-shirts printed
With old cartoons or sarcastic sayings
Looking more like a child than a professional
White athletic socks of course
But at one point mix-matched colored ones
He found at Goodwill
And so many pairs of shoes
Sure to always wear the oldest
Until they fall apart at the toe or heel
His head stays covered
Regardless of season
With a bright beanie
Shorts are rare
But the sweat jacket is always there
Along with the priceless smile
