Three Wishes

A man finally found it
That fabled lamp
From which a genie arose
And offered three wishes
His immediate thoughts
Money, health, material wealth
But before speaking
The genie interrupted
Stating that there was no rush
Perhaps to sleep on it
Dream about the wonderful
Changes he could make for everyone
When he awoke
He understood what this meant
His first wish
For everyone, everywhere to get along and be happy
His second wish
To erase disease and poverty
His third wish
To ensure there was a God and a heaven
After the first two were granted
The genie exclaimed
The third wish was already true
And the man had another wish
But he only smiled and went home
