The many sides and faces
Of her locked into the colors
Trouble me
Like she is in a prison
Pushing at every angle
Every wall
Trying to escape
At times she seems angry
Ready to rip away
The bars that hold her
To take revenge on the world
At times she seems a seductress
Wooing men and women
With long hair, full lips
And voluptuous figure
At times she seems begging
Like a prayer to the gods
Willing to do whatever it takes
For just one fresh breath of air
And at times asleep or dead
Ready to be carried off
By a winged angel
To leave the mixed colors
And awake from the dream

This is interesting because I see light in a prism. The various colors as emotions.
Hmm, interesting how you worked the idea of colours into this. For a self-proclaimed happy person, you're very effectively dipping into the more troubled emotions for the last few poems. Neat reads. (I replied to your post over on ME, btw).
Brian-that is very interesting-I did not think about that at all.
DR-This poem was written from looking at a picture here
I am such a happy person really, but it's no fun to write about flowers and sunshine and silly happiness. I prefer the downside of life-I'm just sick, sick with happiness. The pills must not work correctly. My happiness is more of the way I approach things and look than how I think. I am emotionally happy but mentally down, if that could ever make sense. Anyone who could be happy living in the US with Bozo the clown as president right now is a little ignorant. I'm intelligent enough to know it's all fake, but it's still nice. I should make a poem out of this response.
It makes perfect sense - and yeah, that response did kind of have the germ of a poem-type-sound in it. Funny, I'm almost the opposite sometimes, mentally happy (or at least content), but emotionally all over the place. Ah well, we wouldn't be writers if our state of being was boring and easily labelled! ;-)
I like this - the myriad colors, the myriad roles, identities assumed, possibilities...lots going on here.
Thanks Paris-I am glad people are enjoying it. I must give my thanks to the people at writewordswritingclub for having such inspirational pictures.
Looking at the picture, then reading the poem makes the two meld as one. Perfectly described!!
Pat,
It's not often that I have a poem that isn't right on or near Thursday that gets this much attention. Maybe that is the fun of having a day off work, whatever it is feels good. Appreciate the compliment and I will add you to my blog list.
Morning Chris, just wanted to let you know that I posted my poem for Poetry Thursday based on your line.
Hope all is well with you.

Rose, appreciate it. I will have to start thinking about that now. It is 3 1/2 hours till Thursday. I need to get something up.
I can tell that I am going to spend a lot of time reading your blog.... I love it here!
Sandy-I am glad you are enjoying reading my work. I tried hard to make this blog more user friendly a week ago and it seems to be paying off.
