Sunday Scriblings #60

Topic is: Masks

I have a different mask, for every occasion

One for my sister, one for the in-laws

They have a special one!

And then there is work and church

I keep a very large collection

Ever growing and one would think

That they take up a lot of room

And are very hard to keep up with

But they don't and they aren't

Each comes out on it's own

Stored somewhere inside me

A place that I could not pinpoint if I tried

Even my close friends have masks

So obviously I have a mask for you as well

To be honest it's not just a mask I'm wearing

It's a whole costume

Like everyday is Halloween

But I protest that is isn't on purpose

Just all those years of changing

And I want to appear to be the person people remember

There are only two who don't see any masks

And if you ask them they would say

Sometimes a mask would be a nice treat

Sometimes the real me isn't too pleasant

My mother and wife get the truth no matter what

Everyone else gets their own personal mask
