Meaning

I wish I could say
That it was meaningful
The glitz and glamour
The pain and suffering
The rebirth and forgiveness
The ascendance into heaven
The life everlasting
But usually
It's just words
And a paid day off work
Last night a wake up call
Reminded me
I am not in the majority
Especially of those
Who believe in God
I am just cynical
And take for granted
The wonderful gifts
That surround me
So much so
That tomorrow
Is just another day
